Children's yoga
Yoga classes for children are fun and imaginative, helping create the perfect physical, mental and emotional environment for children to grow and develop. All classes have elements of yoga postures, breathing and relaxation which help to create a strong and flexible body, concentration, self confidence and overall calmness. The key to a children’s and teenager's yoga class is that it is delivered in a fun, creative and stimulating manner.

Yoga for Teenagers

Yoga for teenagers is fun, non-competitive, active and very relaxing, giving teenagers tools to cope with their busy lives and often stressful times at school and within their families.
The dynamic yoga practice used for adolescents helps them to redirect and increase energy as they link their breath and body together in order to calm their minds. A regular yoga practice will help balance the left, more logical, and right, more creative, side of the brain, endowing the student with patience and tolerance, allowing them to get along with their friends and family better.
Simple breathing techniques and visualisations taught in class will help the student breathe naturally and fully allow them to relax when studying for exams and any other challenges they may face during their teenage years.
Yoga combines well with all sports as it creates the strength and balance where needed. But unlike sport, yoga is non-competitive and completely safe, which may appeal to some teenagers.
Yoga encourages students to connect their physical and general well being through its holistic approach to overall health.
Class Format
All classes start with dynamic sequences allowing the students to really get in touch with their body and breath as they increase their heart rate and blood flow. After the dynamic sequences the students will stay in poses longer allowing an emphasis on the Sanskrit names of the poses and what is happening anatomically to keep the students interested. The classes will finish with relaxation/meditation, allowing the students to integrate any physical, mental and emotional changes that have taken place throughout the class.
